My current work in progress took a big turn today. I've always enjoyed the look of mosaics, so I added in rectangular strokes of paint to mimic tiny tiles. I think I like how it's coming along. This sunflower scene was inspired by a photo I took at The Red Barn in Redmond, WA this summer. It was a very hazy, warm day as smoke filled the air from far-off forest fires. Couldn't be more different than the current weather here in Seattle…..rain, rain and more rain. I'm avoiding the flooded roads and staying in to paint today for sure.
