Blog

Hi everyone!  The weather is finally cooling off here in Seattle, and now that we're past some of the recent wildfire smoke, I've been having lots of fun working in my yard and at the botanical gardens.  Weeding, deadheading and mowing the lawn are the less fun chores, but I always take time to stop and appreciate my surroundings.  The flowers continue to be an endless inspiration for me in my acrylic paintings.  One painting I'm currently working on is inspired by a photo I took at the Bellevue botanical gardens and features the beautiful pinky purples of echinacea and allium.  I'm including the most recent pic where I've blocked in colors, as well as the inspiration photo.  Going along with the Fall vibes I'm feeling, earlier this month I finished up a new Hedgehog painting.  This time with the whole family, they are braving the eerie forest, a perfect image for Halloween.  September brings the return of the school year and routines, and I plan to keep busy painting in between running my kiddo to and from school and activities.  Take care and thanks for checking out my blog and my art on my website. :) - Michele
