Pacific Northwest Sky
Acrylic on Canvas 14" x 11" Available
When you're visiting Snoqualmie Falls, look in the opposite direction of the falls. It's a beautiful expanse of sky and trees to the west and is glorious at sunset. This painting was inspired by a photo I took at this very spot in December 2023. The sun had just set, but there was a lovely variety of colors still hanging in the sky. Clouds were a mixture of greys, oranges and purples against the clear teal blue sky. And the line of evergreens was so dark, it was practically black. I used the paint 'splotch' technique that I've been enjoying using lately on my landscapes. It turned out very fun, and I think it represents perfectly unperfect PNW.
This painting is framed with a black floater frame and ready to hang.
